The k2tog knit stitch is just that, we are taking 2 stitches and knitting them together. Grab your knit piece and let’s decrease those stitches.
Even though we are knitting 2 stitches together, doesn’t mean we are decreasing 2 stitches. We are only decreasing by 1 stitch.

- Bring 2 stitches to the front of your left knitting needle. Do not slip any off.
- Insert your right needle into BOTH of the stitches as if you’re going to knit.
- Bring the working yarn around the right needle, and knit the stitches together.
- Slip the stitches off, and you have decreased 1 stitch!
Now, shaping your knitwear just got a little bit easier.
Remember to always keep track of your decreased stitches, as you don’t want to decrease too many stitches on your knitted piece.
Happy Knitting!
